Ubiqus is a global transcription and translation group whose freelancers transcribe or proofread corporate, legal and medical audio for clients. Freelancers accept or decline assignments as they are offered. Pay rates are not published and vary by document type, subject matter and extras such as timecoding. Payout terms are not published, and freelancers outside the US must have a US bank account to be paid. Its US on-demand brand, formerly Verbal Ink, now operates at ubiqus.io.

Who can apply

You create an account, upload a resume and pass a 2-hour test in corporate, legal or medical transcription or in corporate or medical proofreading. You need a computer, internet, Microsoft Word and an audio player, and a headset and foot pedal are recommended. A background check is required after a 2-month probation or 15 assignments.
