Taste Makers

About Taste Makers

Taste Makers is the designer community of Taste Labs, a San Francisco AI lab that builds preference data and evaluations for design. Working designers in UI/UX, brand, web, interactive, game, illustration and 3D do paid projects for AI labs and tech companies, such as designing and shipping work, building brand kits and decks, and judging design quality so models learn taste. Taste Labs does not publish rates, but says pay reflects the worth of your skill with no middleman markup and that you are paid directly for work delivered. Payout method and timing are not published.

Who can apply

You apply to a project that fits your craft and pass a short test, or join the community and get matched later, and acceptance is portfolio-based. There are no minimum hours or exclusivity, and current listings range from short brand projects to a 30-hour-a-week senior designer role. Taste Labs says its community spans 30 countries and the work can be done from anywhere.
