About SilverRide

SilverRide is a licensed rideshare company that drives older adults and people with disabilities, including paratransit, PACE and healthcare trips with door-to-door help. Drivers are 1099 contractors who use their own car and accept or pass on each trip. SilverRide pays a set amount per completed trip, equal to 50% of the ride fare after a client service fee, plus incentives. It publishes state minimums such as 120% of minimum wage per active hour plus $0.37 per active mile in California. Trips completed Saturday through Sunday are paid the following Friday.

Who can apply

SilverRide's driver page says 21 or older, while its Join Us page says 23 or older or the state minimum. You need a valid license from the state where you drive with a clean record, fingerprinting and a criminal background check, and drug and alcohol tests where required. The vehicle should be a 4-door sedan or low SUV no more than 10 years old, insured in your name. Driver cities include Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, Sacramento, Atlanta, Boston, Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, Indianapolis and Louisville.
