About SendaRide
SendaRide drives patients to medical appointments, and its drivers, called Guides, greet riders at the door, walk them to their destination and help them back inside. Guides use their own car, see trip details and earnings before accepting, and pick rides that fit their schedule. Pay is per ride; SendaRide says weekly earnings typically average $25 to $45 an hour, paid weekly for the previous week's trips. Guides are 1099 independent contractors.
Who can apply
You need a valid license, registration and insurance, a 7-year clean driving record, and must pass criminal background, Social Security trace and exclusion checks and a drug test that includes marijuana. You need First Aid, defensive driving and PASS certifications, which SendaRide pays for, and a four-door sedan, van or SUV no more than 10 years old with under 300,000 miles. SendaRide's Ohio posting says drivers may have to cover extra background-check costs if onboarding runs long.
