Propio is a language services company that hires independent contract interpreters for its on-demand phone and video service, PropioONE, and for onsite assignments in healthcare, education and government. Its Greenhouse job board listed 67 openings, nearly all contract roles, on October 4, 2026. Pay rates and payment terms are not published. The Akorbi website now redirects to Propio.

Who can apply

Interpreters must be 18 or older with professional proficiency in English and the target language. Applicants pass language and mock interpreting evaluations, a medical terminology assessment and a full background check, and commit to HIPAA compliance. Onsite roles are offered by metro and may require immunizations. Propio says it never charges applicants or contractors.
