About p(doom) crowd-cast
p(doom) is a small Munich AI lab, funded by Germany's federal agency for breakthrough innovation (SPRIN-D), that buys recordings of long-running computer work to train AI agents. You install its open-source crowd-cast recorder on macOS, Windows or Linux and let it record your screen, keyboard and mouse in apps you choose while you work on your own projects. It advertises up to $1,000 a month for PhD-level research or professional engineering, and around $300 a month for other long projects such as theses, design or personal builds. The first week is a trial paid at a quarter of the monthly rate, and payment goes to your bank monthly. The data rights are perpetual: recordings can be published, sublicensed and sold.
Who can apply
Apply with a short description of the work you'd record. It must be ongoing work you own or may share, with no employer or client confidential work, private messages, meetings, passwords or medical, legal or financial records. You sell data as a private individual, not as an employee, and handle your own taxes. Pay can be reduced for staged or mostly idle recordings.
