About The Drivers Cooperative
The Drivers Cooperative runs Co-op Ride, a driver-owned ride-hail service in New York City that also specializes in paratransit and non-emergency medical rides. Drivers become member-owners and receive the published fare minus the co-op's 15% commission. Long pickups of more than 8 minutes are paid at the full fare with no commission, and profits are shared as patronage dividends once the co-op is profitable. Who can apply
You join by downloading the Co-op Driver app and uploading your driver documents. Co-op Ride runs as an NYC black-car base, so expect to need a TLC driver license and a TLC-plated vehicle. Members receive a membership share; the co-op does not publish whether the share costs anything, so ask before you join.
