About Compass Education Group

Compass Education Group hires tutors for one-on-one SAT and ACT prep in students' homes and online, and Compass finds the clients. Tutors set their own schedules, usually 5 to 20 hours a week, and training is paid. Pay rates are not published; Compass says rates are higher in premium locations.

Who can apply

You need strong SAT and/or ACT skills, a degree from a selective college and prior tutoring, coaching or mentoring experience, and you must be willing to travel to students' homes in Boston, Chicago, the DC area, Houston, New York, Northern California or Southern California.
