Cambly

About Cambly

Cambly is an online English platform where tutors hold conversation practice and lessons with learners over video, through Cambly Classic for adults and Cambly Kids for children. Tutors earn per minute of chat time: $0.17 a minute ($10.20 an hour) on Cambly and $0.20 a minute ($12 an hour) on Cambly Kids, paid weekly by direct deposit. Cambly says it is temporarily limiting how many new tutors it accepts, so profile reviews may take longer than usual.

Who can apply

Becoming a tutor on Cambly requires applicants to be native English speakers and at least 18 years old. No formal teaching experience, degree, or TEFL certification is needed, although having these credentials can boost a tutor’s appeal and income. Tutors must complete a simple application process, including creating a video introduction for prospective students. Reliable internet, a computer with a webcam, and a quiet teaching space are essential for the job. Tutors have full control over their schedules and can choose between adult or children-focused programs, with earnings ranging from approximately $10.20 to $12 per hour, depending on the type of sessions they conduct.
