Voices.com is a voice-over marketplace where talent create a profile with demos and get hired for commercials, narration, e-learning, audiobooks and other voice jobs. Pay is negotiated per job with the client, and no standard rate is published; Voices says talent have earned more than $100 million in total. Clients pay up front into SurePay escrow, and funds are released when the job is complete, or automatically 14 days after completion if the client does not release them. Payouts go through PayPal, and Premium members pay no PayPal fees.

Who can apply

You need a quiet space or studio, a decent microphone and quality demos. The free Guest profile only lets you audition for jobs a client privately invites you to, and search shows Premium members first. Responding to the more than 5,000 public job matches each month and selling packages requires Premium at $499 per year, which is non-refundable and auto-renews, so most work here is pay-to-compete.
